 Welcome
Our goal is to share historical and genealogical information relating to eastern Yuba County, California, including the past and present towns of Smartsville, Timbuctoo, Sucker Flat, Empire Ranch and Mooney Flat.
We hope that the links and Forum on this site will benefit and help to connect researchers interested in the Smartsville and Timbuctoo area.

Future Projects
v Oral histories. We hope to begin recording (via audiotape, videotape, manuscript, etc.) and archiving the stories of current and former residents (and their decendents) of the Smartsville and Timbuctoo area. Please contact us if you would like to participate in this project.
v Genealogies. Many single men and women from the Smartsville and Timbuctoo area ultimately married their neighboring townsfolk, weaving together a rich tapestry of family histories. With respect for anonymity and privacy as our priority, we hope to document as accurately as possible the families who called Smartsville and Timbuctoo their homes.
